Problem

Some of the software tools used in the laboratory did not automatically interact with each other. In particular, there were gaps in the Lab Execution System (LES) used at the time for method execution. Another challenge was that data from software-supported hardware were not consolidated.

Time-saving linkage of information on inventory levels, consumption, and results from weighing processes under the leading LES "Labitude" and the warehouse management app DÜPERTHAL connect. Additionally, integration of the necessary hardware through interfaces.

DC Inventory Management | Package Teams and LES Labitude

The digital twins of the hardware components: safety cabinets (DÜPERTHAL) and iHEX honeycombs with integrated laboratory scale and touch monitor (Smart Lab Solutions, Kern & Sohn) have been digitally connected. To coordinate processes and workflows, the LES "Labitude" from Smart Lab Solutions now forms the backbone. Through an interface, the LES is expanded with the digital inventory monitoring management of DÜPERTHAL connect.

THE RESULT? A NEW WORKFLOW!

A workflow in Labitude requires the use of a specific chemical.

The chemical is selected in DÜPERTHAL connect, the storage location displayed, and checked out for use.

The necessary safety data sheets are provided, along with the current inventory quantity.

Start of the work process in which the chemical is used.

The integrated scale is tared with an empty sample container, and the desired amount of the chemical is withdrawn.

The weighed value is recorded at the push of a button.

Upon confirmation of the weighing result, it is automatically transmitted to DÜPERTHAL connect.

An overview table displays all weigh-ins made by the user.

The remaining chemical is checked back in at the storage location in DÜPERTHAL connect via QR code.

The weight value is automatically subtracted from the previous inventory.

The inventory of each chemical is captured almost in real time, and the consumption is automatically documented.
