Quality inspection

Problem

Employees of a medium-sized laboratory spent a lot of time searching for the availability of the chemical they needed. Once the required medium had been found, it was only possible to clarify whether the purity content of the chemical was within the permissible tolerances by means of the applied labeling

Goal

Optimize the availability search and purity testing of a chemical with the aim of reducing time-consuming, non-value-adding activities and thus relieving employees.

Solution

DC Warehouse Management | Package Team

Initial master data maintenance of stock levels of chemicals, including quantities, chemical and physical properties in the browser-based, installation-free DC Warehouse Management Package Team for a total of 6 users (employees).

Once the stocks have been entered, they are labeled with QR codes on tamper-proof labels for identification purposes. The appropriate label templates are available for the printer via an API interface. The printer communicates with the DC software via the cloud.

THE RESULT? A NEW WORKFLOW!

Instead of manual search, the required chemical is now searched in the team package by DC inventory management.

Das Search result shows, among other things, location / storage location, quantity and degree of purity of a required chemical - long on-site searches are eliminated.

At the storage location, the chemical is checked out, indicating the new place of use, simply by scanning with tablet the QR code attached to the container.

The purity information of the chemical is checked with refractometers and the measured values are automatically matched with the information stored in the inventory in the system.

After positive result, the chemical is used. The unused residual quantity is then weighed in and weighed out again. If the result is negative, the chemical is disposed of and removed from DÜPERTHAL connect.

The residual quantity of the chemical is again checked in by means of inventory management from DÜPERTHAL connect .

During the check-in process, the device used for the initial and backweighing automatically transmits the difference of the quantity taken via API (interface). This is usually confirmed, but can also optionally be overwritten with manual input.

The employees of the laboratory can now use their time for more value-adding activities and are significantly relieved by the inventory management of DÜPERTHAL connect.
